Refuge worldiwde tag der clubkultur 2024 program
Based around a quote from Marshall McLuhan, “The Medium Is The Message”, Refuge Worldwide’s response to the 2024 Tag Der Clubkultur theme focuses on the arts of communication, broadcasting and sound themselves.
In the context of club culture, electronic music and this year’s TDC theme “Beyond Tomorrow,” this entails an exploration of the tools that we have to communicate the values behind our projects. Rather than focusing on any particular message, we zoom out and focus on the mediums.
Radio Discussion: Curation as an art form, a conversation between Edna Martinez (HKW) and DJ Putilla (Fiestuki), hosted by Richard Akingbehin

refuge worldwide
Refuge Worldwide is a community radio station based in the Neukölln area of Berlin.
From our studios we host a range of live broadcasts, weekly workshops, performances and events with some of the world's finest journalists, DJs, artists and activists. After just six months on air, Refuge Worldwide was named in WIRE magazine's Top 100 Essential Radio Stations.
The station now serves as a vital outlet for creativity and discussion both within Berlin and online across the world.
As well as the radio, we run a wide range of educational and editorial projects, lifting up our local community and platforming the voices and stories of marginalised communi- ties. We’ve created workshop and mentorship programs ranging across topics such as mental health, sonic archiving, journalism, DJing, music production, podcasting, field recording and more.
