On 5.10 HIGH Bar will take place at the infamous Ficken 3000.
We have embraced the topic of this year's Clubkultur awards, "Bridging Realities," since starting HIGH in 2022. As a party bridging generations, genres and genders, we have always aimed to create a safer space for marginalized folks. We have applied to the award to support creators, but we also want to question its promotional narratives. Berlin’s club culture was built on subversive forces that found space in liminal spaces, but it has ended up strengthening gentrification. While Tag der Clubkultur talks about how "Berlin’s club culture has always been a driving force of innovation," we see how this work, particularly by marginalized groups, has been co-opted by capitalism. With HIGH Bar, we aim at connecting generations alive and dead. For us it’s about supporting counterculture; it's about bridging realities to generate meaningful intersectional queer connections that can save our lives in the pharmacopornographic era.

HIGH

 HIGH is a party organized by a FLINTA collective aimed at creating a safer FLINTA-to-the-front space for an ecstatic and sex-positive experience with a darker atmosphere shaped by dark techno and EBM sounds. HIGH attempts at inverting the usual balance on hard techno and EBM parties which are typically male-dominated (both behind and in front of the DJ booth) and do not offer safer spaces to FLINTA participants, much less sex-positive environments. Thus, our goal is to create a safer and inclusive space where women, non-binary and trans folx and other queer creatures can be free to dance, explore public sex and kinks and reach altered states of consciousness, while creating community, conviviality and counterculture. During the party we like to bring more than just music to the dance floor; live visuals and performances, information and care enrich the ritual we want to create for our crowd.
