EDGE: Bridging Realities
For the festival week, we offer what we know best: a dance floor that sparks conversation. EDGE: Bridging Realities combines exhibition and dance floor, spaces where reflection and rave feed each other, enabling exchange across communities, generations, and disciplines. The exhibition features curated works and open call contributions, balancing emerging voices with established perspectives. The theme 35 Years of Movement shows how Berlin’s club culture changed and how its spirit of resistance, collectivity, and queerness endures. Installations, video, sound, photography, and performance show diverse expressions. The dance floor mirrors the exhibition, reflection meets collective experience, stillness meets movement, past meets future. Emerging DJs perform with established names. Co-created with our community, the event includes open calls, transparency, and accessibility, honoring 35 years while claiming space for what comes next.

EDGE Berlin
EDGE Berlin was founded in 2021 by three queer migrant artists from Turkey. We were shaped by the underground queer nightlife of Istanbul, which continues to evolve as a vital safe space for community and resistance, despite increasing oppression. Our background shaped the meaning of nightlife for us: a space to resist and create a future together. EDGE was created out of the need to carry these values with us. A city that is so open and creative can also feel like a jungle for all creatives, especially for marginalized individuals carrying their experiences as baggage. So, we started EDGE to serve as a platform for those voices: the underdogs, newcomers, queer, FLINTA*, and migrant artists whose stories are too often erased or lost. Since then, our collective has grown. Today, we are a core team from Turkey, the US, and Sweden, surrounded by a broad network of contributors. We work horizontally with shared decision-making and keep our programming community-led.
