Drag Will Save the Day: Open Stages Showcase
At Tipsy Bear we are very proud of our open stages. Any strong artistic scene needs to make space for emerging talent & foster the next generation by encouraging new & new-to-town performers to get on the stage! Many performers that had their start within these open houses are now icons in the city and working internationally.
An open stage program is not only an artistic choice and designed for only performers, but a crucial component of inclusion & participation in queer community. DRAG SAVES LIVES because it provides a way to express & explore marginalized identities, within an environment that celebrates you – so you can better navigate the outside world.
This night will be a showcase of our two longest running open stages & the icons that created them; Dragoholic by Judy LaDivina & König Dragshow by Buba Sababa. As well as providing information on how to get involved.

Tipsy Bear Berlin
Tipsy Bear Berlin is more than a venue — it’s a queer performance space, and community hub – affectionately referred to as “the queer heart of Prenzlauer Berg.”
PoC-owned and independently operated since March 2019, we’ve become a home for artists, audiences, staff, and guests alike. Within our modest 74sqm, we provide employment to 100+ queer people each month across our staff and performers. We curate & facilitate diverse community-led programming 7 days a week that reflects all facets of the queer community.
We remain committed to building inclusive sustainable nightlife, rooted in mutual respect and shared humanity, fostering lasting relationships, building family and advocating for social causes, amidst the pressures of a transforming city and rising queerphobia. Community is at the core of everything we do. Over six years, we’ve fostered an expansive
network of intersecting queer and trans communities, building relationships that extend far beyond our walls.
