Awareness als Veranstaltende

The three-hour workshop is aimed specifically at event organizers. We would like to share the knowledge and experience we have gained in recent years on the topic of awareness. The importance of awareness work for everyone involved is crucial. The aim is to build on existing knowledge and create a fundamental understanding of why awareness is crucial to ensuring that club and party culture not only works, but remains vibrant, beautiful and sustainable.

It is important to us that awareness work is understood as care work that must not be done for free. That is why we will show which initiatives/collectives offer advice and support in the workshop. We will also discuss the needs of those who carry out awareness work themselves. We will also talk openly about the challenges and fears associated with establishing awareness structures.

b-aware Kollektiv Berlin

B-aware is a collective that has been active in various constellations since 2021. We work with many structures, collectives, organizers and individuals - especially in the club and festival scene in and around Berlin. We are also active at other events, such as RE:PUBLICA, the Feminist Book Fair, the LARA e.V. anniversary symposium and demonstrations. Our aim is to make awareness work accessible to organizers and participants in various contexts, to disseminate it and to establish it in the long term.

The basis of our commitment is the following insight: in public spaces, safety and well-being are not a right to be taken for granted, but often a structural privilege. With our work, we want to change structures so that more people can experience this privilege - especially those who have previously been excluded from it.
