Awareness note
From October 3 to 10, all award winners and numerous other clubs and collectives will present their cultural and artistic work in over 80 events throughout Berlin as part of the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR festival week. In the extensive festival program, consisting of club nights, performances, talks, workshops, screenings, exhibitions and more, they show the multifaceted as well as the diverse and interdisciplinary spectrum of Berlin's club culture.
The program of the festival week is as diverse as Berlin's club culture. The events bring together various club culture players with different social positions and backgrounds. We recognize that we all have different experiences and knowledge. We all have different personal and collective histories in our communities. We are differently privileged and affected by the current political situation. That is why it is particularly important to us at the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR that we treat each other with respect, empathy and compassion and value dialog, exchange and mutual learning.
Each collective and each club brings its own awareness concept and understanding to its events, but they are all united by respect and sensitivity for diverse perspectives and individual boundaries.
The TAG DER CLUBKULTUR festival week stands for diversity, solidarity, community and tolerance. The aim is to create discrimination-sensitive spaces in which everyone can feel as safe, accepted and comfortable as possible. Discrimination, ascriptions and psychological and physical violence in any form are not accepted. We do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, origin, religion, ideology, neurological-cognitive diversity, disability, age, ethnicity or social and economic status. Part of creating a safe space is also to be aware of one's own boundaries and to respect the boundaries of others, to recognize, address and critically question discrimination. We encourage people to be aware of their own position and privileges, to take a firm stance against discriminatory behavior and to support those affected.
Awareness teams will be on site at many events to provide support in the event of incidents. For the specific awareness concept of the respective event, please check the website of the organizing club/collective or the notices on site.
