Café Chocolat Evening #8 with Batila & The Dream Bus
Café Chocolat, is a music series and community building event. We aim at celebrating and supporting local talents and newcomer black and brown artists & DJ’s within the diaspora of Germany’s communities. Our main thesis is that when communities are supported and treated fairly they will thrive. Café Chocolat returns officially with another edition of its community-rooted series, presenting an unforgettable evening led by Batila & The Dream Bus—a Berlin-based collective of outstanding international musicians known for their soul-stirring fusion of grooves, melodies, and ancestral rhythm. The sound? Bantu Soul—music by people, for people—coined by bandleader and songwriter Batila, whose Congolese roots and deep love for Rumba Congolaise anchor this rich and spiritual sonic journey.

Morena Leraba is the stage name of Teboho Mochaoa, a musician and shepherd from Lesotho who blends traditional Sesotho Famo music with global sounds to create a hypnotic, genre-defying style.
With electrifying live performances, acclaimed collaborations (Major Lazer, Damon Albarn’s Africa Express, BLK JKS), and his 2023 debut record Fela sa Ha Mojela, he has become an internationally celebrated voice.
Rooted in the mountains of Lesotho yet shaped by the energy of Johannesburg, Leraba’s music carries stories of migration, resilience, and spiritual calling — a powerful fusion of past and present, rural and urban, local and global.
Schokoladen
For 35 years, Schokoladen has been a free space for independent party and concert culture in Berlin-Mitte and beyond. Established as a cultural venue in 1990, the year of German reunification, it is run as a collective space, on a voluntary basis, organising over 230 parties and concerts each year, both independently and in cooperation with collectives. With Schokoladen, we want to create a free space where people can not only find themselves, but also engage in conversation with others, even beyond their own neighbourhood.
As a functioning alternative microcosm, Schokoladen has an important socio-cultural function: it provides a stage for artists that is not profit-oriented, but above all offers a space for experimentation and strengthens the local newcomer scene. Our artistic vision is to create an open, inclusive space that promotes diversity, experimentation and social reflection.
