Insane in the 'Hain
Counterclockwise / Paul Waak
September 27 – October 11 / Aktionshaus
Curated by Lucie Freynhagen
Anyone who thinks the strawberry is being reinvented at Karls
Erlebnis-Dorf shouldn't miss Paul Waak's exhibition Counterclockwise!
The artist presents painterly new additions in a double sense. A
curatorial concept has been developed specifically for the Aktionshaus
and in collaboration with Lucie Freynhagen, which brings artistic
reception into a pleasant state of imbalance.

Aktionshaus
The Aktionshaus is a project space, centered around “action” as a form of artistic research that is transdisciplinary, neighborly, intergenerational and considerate. Located on the 8th floor of a memorable 1990s office building at the boundary between an industrial area and a vibrant Berlin neighborhood, it offers special freedoms and resources for artistic production and thinking, as well as an exceptional view.
The Aktionshaus is a space where non-hierarchical and collaborative exploration, play, and experiences can take place, guided by questions arising from everyday life as well as from contemporary art and discourse. Its programmatic focus is on immersive exhibitions of contemporary positions that often stem from experimental collaborations as well as on an action-oriented live program that draws from cross-disciplinary and hybrid formats such as readings, workshops, discussions and concerts.
