Call for participation
Eligibility: You are a club or club cultural collective based primarily in Berlin. Your organizational form is transparent and comprehensible. Your commitment to Berlin club culture deserves an award. The TAG DER CLUBKULTUR offers clubs and collectives the opportunity to win 10,000 euros in prize money and recognition across Berlin club culture for your important work.
Selection process
Between August 1 and August 15, 2022, Berlin clubs and collectives can apply for one of 40 awards each worth 10,000 euros. To be eligible, all necessary application materials must be submitted on time and in full. The submissions will be compiled and presented to the independent board of trustees after the application deadline. The announcement of the 40 awardees and the award ceremony will take place in September.
Application period
Applications are open from August 1 to August 15, 2022. Please use the online application form at www.tagderclubkultur.berlin. The application deadline is August, 15, 2022, 12 am.
Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees (Kuratorium) is composed of five people, each with different perspectives on the diverse Berlin club scene, different professions, and horizons of experience. The board of trustees works independently. It evaluates the submissions and awards up to 40 qualified clubs and collectives with 10,000 euros each based on their work to date. This year the board of trustees consists of Christine Kakaire, Lilia van Beukering, Nico Adomako and Prince Emrah. The 5th member will be announced soon.
Formal eligibility criteria
Only applicants that meet the following criteria will be accepted:
Creative center based in Berlin
Transparent, comprehensible presentation of organizational structure
Willingness to, if awarded, participate in communication and documentation around TAG DER CLUBKULTUR
In existence for at least one year
Content-related eligibility criteria
The Board of Trustees will evaluate submissions based on the following criteria:
Artistic / programmatic profile (e.g. innovation, promotion of young talent, diversity ...)
Establishment in the scene / significance for Berlin club culture (e.g. acting as an anchor structure for the scene; ecological, economic and social sustainability; diversity and inclusion; awareness and anti-discrimination; community building; solidarity with other actors; international dialogue ...)
Written reflection on this year's thematic focus: "GROWING ROOTS - SHAPING SPACES", i.e. the origins & spaces of Berlin's club culture.
Application form
For the application to participate in TAG DER CLUBKULTUR, the following information is required, which must be supported by appropriate evidence (links, photos, videos, media reports, etc):
1. Short introduction / presentation of the artistic profile.
Who are we? How long have we existed? What makes us special? What do we stand for? What is our significance for Berlin club culture?
2. Roots & Spaces - Origins & Spaces of Berlin Club Culture
What are the origins of our club or collective? How have we helped shape Berlin club culture? What is the significance of the spaces we create? How do we ensure that our spaces survive into the future?
Examples:
How do we design our space(s) with a focus on our communities?
How have our space(s) evolved from inception to today?
What are the origins of our club or collective?
What are our cornerstones and values?
Who and what have shaped us?
How do we help shape Berlin club culture yesterday and today?
What is the significance of the spaces we create?
What do the spaces we create mean to us and to the development of the city?

3. Event program for a showcase for the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR between October 3 and 9, 2022
Propose an event that you’d like to contribute to the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR between 3 - 9 October: how would it look?
Every club and every collective takes on the responsibility of independently organizing a program contribution for the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR between October 3 - 9, 2022. These events take place under current hygiene regulations. The form and scope is completely up to you. Depending on the format, please make sure that the entrance fees for your event are designed in such a way that access to the events is possible for as many people as possible.
While in the past two years all events took place on October 3, this year we have decided to extend the event period for the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR to a full week
We encourage you to plan events on the other days of the week as well, so that all events have space and attention, and to continue the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR experience over the whole week. Be creative! All event formats and ideas are possible. We will develop the schedule together with all the honorees, of course taking your availability into account.
4. Description and proof of the organizational structure, clearly noting applicants as well as recipients of the prize
Are you a Verein, a GmbH, a UG or similar? How long have you been active in Berlin? Please submit proof of this as well as your organization's bank account information.

You can submit your application via the online form at www.tagderclubkultur.berlin by August 15, 2022, 24am the latest. For reasons of equal treatment, subsequent submissions will not be accepted.
