Gegen Berlin is one of the most infamous queer parties in Berlin with 10 years of events and initiatives as experience. When it all started, back in 2011, there weren’t many queer sex-positive events happening in Berlin. With Gegen, they want to push people out of their comfort zones by confronting every participant with their beliefs and their prejudices. This is why they created Gegen, by performing your psychosis, by being the enemy of yourself, by thinking and being out of b/order and by destroying every rational thought.
This year's exhibition consists of a group of 18 Berlin-based multidisciplinary artists who examine, through the theme of ‘Transmutation’, the subject of transforming or change. This convergence of one element into another can happen naturally as well as artificially. The exhibition will include photography, painting, drawing and sculpture, as well as new media, such as video and sound installation and live performances.
