Zur Klappe x Tag der Clubkultur
Join Zur Klappe for a week of Tag der Clubkultur events celebrating the past, present, and future of club culture in our beloved space. On Wednesday 9 October, we will host two special events: Turning Your Passion Into a Party, co-hosted by Body Language and POAW, a drag dance party hosted by BLEACH “Turning your passion into a party” is an open session for people to come on down and learn how to host events in club environments, and ask any questions they have about what is holding them back. Co-hosted by Body Language and our in-house Booker, this open session helps aspiring organisers turn their party concepts into unforgettable events, with plenty of room for questions and guidance. Afterwards, come down to the old cruising toilets for a homosexual affair of rough transitions. We are going back to our transgressive and political roots with POAW, hosted by BLEACH for an extended POPPERs high on a Wednesday. Join us in the cubicle for constant performance, mixed music, mixed people, Gogo dancers, sex makers, drag DJs and drag MCs. Other events of the week include The Mix Up, an open-deck DJ session by Blanq Slate, and parties hosted by local favorites like Facilitate (FLINTA Drum & Bass crew )and Deep Down (Art & Techno collective).

ZUR KLAPPE
Zur Klappe is a (literally) underground nightclub in Berlin, calling a former gay cruising toilet underneath the streets of Mehringdamm home. Zur Klappe remains true to Berlin nightlife culture of old: sweaty smokey dance floors, small intimate crowds in a space that feels intrinsically punk and Queer. The original premises have hardly been changed; graffiti and original tiles on the walls remain. When you visit, you'll be experiencing not just a nightclub, but a piece of Berlin's social history. We are a small but dedicated team and our program is as diverse as the community we live in. We are proud to work with artists and collectives both established and new, to create a space that celebrates the resilience, creativity, and solidarity of the club culture community. Regardless of who you are,or what music you love, there will always be a spot on our dancefloor for you.
