United We Slay

Our concept highlights our Open Stages as both artistic platforms and vital spaces for community growth, allowing all to actively explore the beauty, and empowerment of Drag.

Any strong artistic scene needs to make space for emerging talent. As curators we take a responsibility to not only support seasoned artists of excellence, but also to foster and encourage the next generation. Many performers that started on The Tipsy stage are now icons in the city and working internationally. However, an open stage program is not only an artistic choice but a crucial component of queer community.

This is reflected in the shows generational line up, with the following resident artists:

Judy LaDivina: Mother to over 100 drag artists in Berlin, and creator of Dragoholic.
Buba Sababa: Creator of König, father to countless drag kings, and son of Judy.
Papi Pistola: Co-organiser of König, drag king icon, grandson of Judy and son of Buba.
Lola Limonero: Current mother of Dragoholic, and daughter of Judy.

Each have made a significant impact in Berlin’s queer performance scene, and collectively have introduced, through workshops and opportunities, hundreds of performers into the Berlin scene.

Our exhibition will explore community memories over the years, and the panel will pose the question of how to create a safer queer future in Berlin
